JOB OBJECTIVE
We are seeking a dynamic professional to fill our AVP Technology role who will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing complex technical projects and programs within the Northern Arc Technology organization. (S)he will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet the defined objectives
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Program Planning and Strategy:
Define program objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
Develop a comprehensive program plan, including timelines, resources, and milestones.
Align program goals with the organization’s strategic objectives.
•Project Execution:
Lead cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and other technical experts, to deliver program objectives.
Monitor and track project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise.
Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and best practices.
•Stakeholder Communication:
Establish clear lines of communication with project stakeholders, including executives, clients, and team members.
Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones.
Facilitate productive meetings and workshops to gather requirements and make decisions.
•Resource Management:
Allocate and manage program resources, including budgets, staff, and equipment.
Optimize resource utilization and manage dependencies between projects within the program.
•Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation plans.
Proactively address issues that could impact project delivery or program goals.
•Quality Assurance:
Establish quality standards and ensure that projects meet these standards through testing and validation processes.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program performance.
•Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate program documentation, including project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Generate regular reports and performance metrics for stakeholders and leadership.
•Change Management:
Manage changes in program scope, schedule, and objectives.
Assess the impact of changes and communicate effectively with relevant parties.
•Vendor and Third-Party Management:
Collaborate with external vendors or partners as needed and manage vendor relationships.
Ensure vendor deliverables align with program goals and quality standards.
•Technical Expertise:
Maintain a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the program.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & COMPETENCIES
•10+ years of proven experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar role
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (preferably Computer/Electrical Engineering).
•Solid understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate technical details into non-technical terms.
•Candidate is not expected to code but should know the nuances of software development including coding and be very strong in logic. The ideal candidate will be one who can code if needed.
•Strong project management skills including familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
•Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
•Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
•Experience in risk management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
•Knowledge of Java, Python, languages, and SDLC
